After three decades of being a place to call home in Newark, The Atrium at Churchman Village, an independent senior living community, is receiving a new lease on life. Over the next few years, additional renovations for the apartments at The Atrium are expected to update the bedrooms, kitchen, and bathrooms.
“We are excited at some of the high tech that is going into out new apartments,” says Lisa Sierer, regional director of operations, showing off the new kitchens. “The new induction cooking surfaces are amazing! They virtually eliminate any risk of fire when cooking; it’s neat.”
The Atrium at Churchman Village not only has space for long-term tenants, but it is also a discharge option for those who complete their short-tem therapy at Churchman Village’s skilled nursing center located on the campus and are looking for senior living options. “These apartments are ideal for seniors who can return home but would like to have additional services, like hot meals prepared for them while they continue their therapy at the facility’s rehab gym on an out-patient basis. It’s a great respite,” says Cheryl Downer, director of The Atrium at Churchman Village.
Be sure to stop by Cheryl’s office the next time you visit your loved one or if you believe a respite stay at The Atrium at Churchman Village would be beneficial before the solo trip back to home. The friends you meet at the Atrium might convince you this is the ideal new home for you or your loved one!
